White Pine Muskegon County Trails
There are 2 staging areas – one at Hall Rd and on Maple Island, just north of White Rd. The Hall Rd loops are flatter with wider trails – perfect for horse and carts or training of younger horses. The Maple Island loop has a few hills. Ride up on the ridge or in the deeper sand alongside the water. There is a beautiful scenic overlook of Mosquito Creek on the north side of the Maple Island loop! Come ride the entire trail or one side, the choice is yours! Porta potties are provided at both staging areas. Both staging areas are set back off the roads for the safety of your horses.
There is no hunting permitted in this area. The Hall Rd loops are closed December 1 – March 31 for snowmobilers. The Maple Island Loop is open year-round with the staging area plowed during the winter months.
Muskegon County Trail Riders Association advocate for this area, maintain the trails and are continually working on expansions of the existing trail loops, and also extending the trails into other areas. Follow their facebook page for more information on how to get involved.
A small obstacle course is available for use with your paid membership, you will receive a code to access the course when you join MCTRA. There are plans to expand and donations can be made that will go towards improvements and expansions of the obstacle course.
